Supanova music group postpones Keko’s album launch by 1544c Ssejjombwe. (+256 782233273)
Keko under her management supanova music group has postponed the Kekonian album launch that was due to take place on the 27th of this respective month to the 10th of August.
The record label cited collision as the main reason why they’ve pushed the concert because several artists have their concerts in the same period she was slated to have hers.
Coco Finger and Mun G are planning to launch in the same period while the highly anticipated battle of champions between Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine is also taking place soon.
“There are several shows scheduled around the same. We have therefore decided to switch the dates a bit so that we can give full support to the artists involved’’ said Keko’s manager Just Jose.
The management further said that since most of the artists involved share more or less the same fan base with Keko, she’s going to support them and she also hopes they’ll also be available when she needs them on the 10th of August.
The label however assures the fans that despite the seemingly long wait, everything is in place to put up a flawless show. “In fact, the extra months shall simply be used to organize an unforgettable concert.” concluded Just Jose.

Big artists to be taxed by 1544c Ssejjombwe. (+256 782233273)
Just like any other business, the music industry is one venture that has been fetching a lot of money for artists without the government interference but just like week, a proposal was passed that performing artistes, writers, producers, video makers and promoters should also pay a certain percentage depending on their income.
The amendments were passed on last Friday and will look at established artists who command huge crowds and sell out concerts. The little known, call them upcoming artists are safe for now because they are just making a name in the industry.
The law will commence as soon as the financial year 2012-2013 budget is passed.
Jose Chameleon, Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, Judith Babirye, Wilson Bugembe, Irene Namubiru, Angella Kalule, Eagles Production and Juliana Kanyomozi are some of the artists the law is looking at for starters.
According to some of the mentioned artists, they are fine with the law except that government should first work on people who pirate their music.
The types of taxes levied on artists include Income and Value Added tax.
Income tax will be charged according to how much an artist gets in a given period of time either monthly or annually.
The VAT (Value Added Tax) will be charged with a 18% of the total income an artist gets.
Music promoters, writers and producers are also considered in this preparation because they are part of the music industry.
Radio and Tv stations are the other entities included in this preparations because they also play a big part in the industry.
The process has been organized in a way that the artist should get a Tax Identification Number (TIN) which will be showing the period of time he/she has paid.
This will all be done by looking at the schedule of the artist especially where he’s going to perform, when, and how much they are going to be paid.
