1 on 1 with Hellen Lukoma

Who is Hellen?
I’m Hellen Lukoma a very ambitious, friendly, open minded and a God fearing girl.

What is your story?
I come from a family of six me being the last born. I went to Shimon Primary school, l did my O’level at Lubiri Senior Secondary School then Aghan Khan for my A ‘level and in fact l have just completed my Bachelor in Internal Business at Makerere Business School.

Why did you quit the Obsessions?
It was because of limitations in the group. I wanted to continue with my studies and also do some modeling but unfortunately that wouldn’t happen because of the rules around the group. And secondly l wanted to put my ambitions into motion though l give credit to the group (Obsessions) for putting me where l am right now because if it was for them l would not be where l am today.

Do you still keep in touch with any of the members of the Obsession?
No l don’t, because we went to different directions and besides their part ended and l began my own part.

How do you describe your relationship between you and Brenda
She’s more of a sister and best friend to me because she always there to give me the strength, motivation, courage and also always corrects me when l have gone astray.

So HB Toxic, the last we had was “Nkufeelinga” Anything you guys are cooking?
Yap, we are definitely  cooking something since l have a break from “Hostel” and Brenda done with the fashion show so now  we are in studios doing our new single (sorry l won’t say the title)

Since Brenda is doing fashion and you are doing acting, isn’t this affecting your music?
I don’t think it is because we support each other in everything we do though there might be a hole but HB Toxic still stands.

About acting, how long have you been in the industry?
Not for long, because my screen acting began this year in the Hostel series though l used to act in theaters’ with the Obsessions.

How do you manage to juggle Patra and Hellen in both worlds?
We do share a lot in common. You see Patra is a very selfish girl and knowledgeable and also she likes skipping lectures and madly in love with fashion but her father doesn’t support .To some extent Hellen is like that. We differ from the selfish part and the dad controlling everything.

Speaking of fashion, in the real world do you do fashion?
No, I’m not a big fun of fashion l like it accidently.

About the Hostel, you and Odoch (Daniel Omara) had a steamy relationship at the end; tell us about the relationship in the scene
Hahahahaha, well it was the last episode to shoot so we had to climax it to the maximum such our funs should expect more and trust me it was real though no strings attached and l have to say that my boyfriend was not happy about it.

Speaking of your boyfriend, who is that lucky guy?
Ahhmm, let’s say that there is a superman who looks after me.
