Kirumaganyi Henry known by his stage name Henry Tigan is commonly known for his simple personality and with songs like Abogezi, Nsiimye Gwe among others, he’s perhaps one of those artists who have kept the consistence in the music industry.
So what’s Tigan up to of late?
Well I’m currently projecting on country tours, my upcoming album with five songs so far done and currently, the shooting of my latest single Wine up.
What was your 1st recorded song?
In a group called Jamming crew; our first recorded track was called Empisazo back then in 2005.
Why did you join the music industry?
Had music at heart and with my talent, I had the dream of becoming a renowned musician one day.
What perks come with music?
Fame and money are the best things I’ve so far received in the music industry and the name I have is a bonus.
Because of my music, I’m known internationally after making huge collaborations with well acclaimed musicians like Marlon Asher, Mighty Mystic and BL.
How did your family feel about your decision of joining the music industry?
In the beginning, they didn’t like the idea but later became supportive after realizing that education was my first priority.
I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Adult and Community education at Kyambogo University last year.
Which do you consider is your biggest hit?
Personally, my biggest hit is Abogezi which was my first recorded solo off my Abogezi album done in 2006.
What’s with the simple personality?
I think it’s my nature that I was born with few words but my aggressiveness got me where I am today.
Any future collaborations?
Well I’m looking at doing a collaboration with Joanita Kawalya of Afrigo band next.
Word has it that you are now signed to Bobi Wine’s firebase. Clarify on that?
Bobi Wine is my good friend and because of his style, I decided to do collaboration with him in my song titled Aneganye. I haven’t joined Firebase because I’m still pursuing a solo career. We always hang out together and several times perform together on certain functions perhaps that’s the reason why people think I joined firebase.
What studios are credited for your songs?
Dream studios, Havy records and Bobi Wine’s Fire records are credited for the production of my songs.
What perks have you so far received in the music industry?
I received a Pearl of Africa Music Award in my first year of contention, I have a house hold name in the music industry and I’ve done collaborations with well acclaimed artists like Mighty Mystic, BL and Marlon Asher.
Where do you see yourself Five years from now?
More videos, songs and perhaps one of the best African musicians ever.
