She’s regarded as a business woman in the UK but down here in Uganda, she’s perhaps the next big name in the music industry having made her mark with hits like “Hit and Run” alongside Prosy Patra.
Lilian Kyeyune Nabulime Buttle a.k.a Sister Slave is a multi-talented Ugandan-UK based musician who has been in the music industry since the mid 1990s.
Having recorded her first single in 1997 as a student at Nabingo, Sister Slave has a fourteen track album called “Mumpowe” that has songs like Baila, Wickedest, Sikyakudila, Mumpowe and Ndiwano already done.
Besides the distance she has with her fans and the politics in the music industry, she’s determined to overcome all the challenges in her way particularly with the help of her brother Ragga Dee and sister Prosy Patra.
The burgeoning artist is nothing but sure that her music is pushed to places because the two are very helpful in various ways.
“I’m so grateful for the help they’ve rendered to me especially in connecting me to ideal people like producers, media houses and for helping me identify the changes in the industry while I’m not on ground.”
The “hit and run” songstress is talented in a variety of styles with Jazz, Blues, Reggae, Dancehall, Afro pop, Zouk as her area of expertise and expects topping charts through those particular styles.
Managing housing stocks at a finance company near Hithro airport, she is able to finance her music career.
Asked what aspects she delivers in her songs, the burgeoning star said she delivers first hand info and authenticity.
“Being a passionate woman, I endeavor to sing my heart out in most of my songs because that is the only satisfaction I get out of them.” she said.
Mother of a 6 year old beautiful daughter by the names of Davinia, Sister Slave has a vision of influencing the industry and perhaps toping charts the world.
