Grace

Here is what your artists would have become if they were not musicians By Isaac ssejjombwe.

Here is our second edition of what our favorite artists would have become incase they hadn’t done music and like last week, we are looking at two different musicians.

GRACE NAKIMERA.

Being a people’s person, independent and an entertainer, Grace began her musical career professionally in 2004 with Gatimo in Ani Akumanyi before going solo.

With her Afro-Pop style, Grace is one of the few artists to maintain her audience five years down the road and this is attributed to her energetic performances she displays on every concert she attends.

Having over five videos that have cost her not less than 10 million shillings each, Grace’s Anfukula scooped the best video of the year for 2008 in PAM Awards the best achievement in the Ugandan music industry.

If it wasn’t music, Grace would have been a professional Hairdresser because she majored in hairdressing at Revlon beauty school in Nairobi Kenya. Besides music, she also owns Pinky beauty salon that offers pedicure, manicure, facials and all hair designs for women.

Asked how she is able to juggle music, work and family, the anfukula singer said it is all about setting which thing has to be done during what time for example she usually spends the whole day at home taking care of her child and promotes her songs in the evenings from Monday to Thursday every week and from 8pm onwards, she dedicates her time to her family unless there is a concert she has to perform on.

Sweet Kid

SWEET KID.

Mama Brenda, kankutwale were some of the hits that transformed Sweet Kid into an established artist.

Having graduated in Journalism and Mass communication, Sweet Kid said he would have been a Broadcaster or a “lawyer” but I don’t know were the law comes in but he choose music because he had both the talent and passion.

Depending on various concerts he attends, Sweet Kid is paid differently like the money he gets during private functions is totally different to that he receives during charity, tours and birthdays.

Sweet Kid has already finished Abeerawo and tewali njawulo two of the songs off his eight track album that he will be launching at the beginning of next year. Love issues, gospel, and society related matters are the essential aspects that he tackles when delivering his songs.
