FRED HUNTER

Born in 1977, in Makindye, I could say I started singing and dancing at the tender age of 2. While in school, I was in the school choir and was also good at the base drums.

Well my turning point in my music career was in secondary school at St Peter’s Senior Secondary School around 1991. Peter Semantimba and his studio, (Dungeon Studio), produced a number of songs from the: Perfect Generation, Shanks Vi Vi Dee e.t.c. So many youths felt like music was the thing to do then and I was one of those.

I formed a group called the “Ranken Kids” with which we made a number of school shows with friends like: K.R and Jay; D.F and Pat e.t.c

I used to see guys like Ronald Mayinja, sing at school and used to admire them, we used to sing along side Bush baby of E.A radio/T.V and Kid Fox, who were two classes ahead of me. Lillian Mbabazi of the Blue 3 and I used to also sing and practice with guys like Micheal Ross at Mankidye.

In 1998 when I was in my senior six vacation I joined the Cultural Beat Band and used to do shows around town. I used to play the drums in the band.
My stay in the cultural Beat Band taught me a lot.

You know music can really be profitable but it is hard to break through to the lime light or when you make it, then it’s expensive in that, a good studio is around 250000/= and above, so this has been my problem all along. Well just recently I have recorded my first single called “Abakyala Bakuno” from Steve Jean’s new studio.
The song was sponsored by Mr. Byarugaba Richard MD Nile bank. I think this has brought me yet to another start once again.
This song talks about the different types of women around and that it is up to one to choose who is good for him.
Am sure this song has got good beats and the rhythm really flows. All in all it is a good song and danceable to.

I sing a number of styles which include hip hop, R&B, Reggae and others.
I have got big plans for my music and am going to see them work this year, come Pearl of Africa 2005.
