ID Twins
Sky is the limit for the Id Twins.
Meeting the Id twins for the very first time was quite an experience in itself this because of their interestingly enormously identical looks and difference in expression style. One is out rightly an extrovert yet the other is the direct opposite of that. Wasswa Cosma and Kato Kedie seem to know exactly where they are headed when it comes to forwarding their career in the music recording industry. This you can tell through the enthusiasm they portray in explaining a few issues about their career. Not only is the duo recording artists, they are also accomplished songwriters, composers and screen actors. Their most recent outing was their feature in Roger Mugisha’s inspired true story movie, The battle of the souls.

The ID twins specialize in Afro-beat, dancehall, reggae and slow ballad genres which they have come to master over the years, thanks to their resilience, passion and impeccable persistence to what they claim to truly believe in. Like true musicians they got their inspiration at an early through the church choir and church drama clubs, a feature which further built their stage ego and further inspired them to take on music as an art form as a career. In the year 2000 while in their junior high school(O-Level) they were already names to reckon with at the school campus because of their active participation in the school drama club ,this continued up till their A-level. By first year at university their game raised when they produced their debut single gospel track Yesu Omunazalesi on which they featured a valuable player on their team by the name Dennis P with whom they form the group O Squad. By late last year (2008) they had put final touches to their debut eight track album which boasts of a mixture of different music genres like inspirational gospel music, dancehall beats and conscious reggae.

The songs off the album have proved a force to reckon with and they have already gone down well with various club Djs who are rotating them in clubs such as Club volts in Uganda and the UK and Club Silk. The source of their inspiration will perhaps prove that they are ardent music followers who only need promotion to make their industry mark. They got their inspiration from veteran artists such as Shanks Gumaras, Elly Wamala, Philly Lutaaya, Buju Banton, Kirk Franklin and Papa San.’ Right now we are continuing to push our music for on-air radio rotation and are also in the process of shooting videos for our various projects for further marketing purposes” they mildly explain. They have done their audio production work at Dream studios (home of the firebase crew), True Vine studios, Klap records and mostly would like to give it up to producer Psalm of True Vine studios. Besides recording music they also hope to push ahead with their acting careers this because of the exposure they received from featuring in Roger Mugisha’s blockbuster The battle of the souls. The ID twins have not forgotten their church roots and are still full time members of the Makerere Full Gospel Church. They appreciate and respect pastor Lukwago who doubles as their uncle for inspiring and mentoring them spiritually. With the lighting speed way through which the globe is moving one has to find ways through which they can easily be accessed and that’s why the id twins are self confessed fanatics of the worldwide social network face book on which they are signed so how about you signing them up as friends?
