Iryn Namubiru Upclose

She came back from France after her worldly tours in America, LA and Boston and rocked Kampala, Uganda. In the few weeks that Iryn was around she had various shows and this left many people asking for more, but too bad she had to go for her Easter tour "Fire in the City". The climax for all was the Show Casing of Iryn at The Silk Lounge where she performed most of her new songs off her current album

What has Iryn been Up To?

Iryn: I have been busy in studio recording my album that I am planning to launch in July.The album includes tracks like "Mbogere Ntya, Tugume done at Dream Studios, Nikikwona, Wanipa Hamu done in Kenya, Osindika Asitamye ft Qute Kaye, Abakadde Tubayambe, Newaddeyo, Ngeenze, Waniiza and Ca Bouge"

What does Iryn stand for?

Iryn:  Women and Children's rights

What is your philosophy on life?

Iryn: Only you can make life what you want it to be.

What is your Shoe size?

Iryn: 7

What perfume do you use?

Iryn: I always have five . But at the moment I am using three: Kenzo Amour, Gaultier, L'instant De Guerlian.

What is your craziest encounter with a fan?

Iryn:  When I first performed live at Sabrina's Pub people cried

What CDs are you listening to?

Iryn:  International – Soul, R'N'B, Drum and Base, Local:  Kinobe.  EA: Winyo

What is your favourite drink?

Iryn: Water

Who would you want to do a collabo with?

Iryn:  Nandujja

What makes you laugh?

Iryn:  Many; jokes, My son.

What makes you cry?

Iryn: Waiting

What is your stand for the Youth?  Abstinence or Condom use and why?

Iryn:  Abstinence, they should learn to wait till they are married.

Many musicians seldom deviate into doing movies as they take breaks between recording albums.  Do you have plans to do so?

Iryn:  I love acting.  I was known for acting first.

What is the first thing you do in the Morning?

Iryn:  In France I kiss my husband and goodmorning to my son

What is your favorite color?

Iryn:  Black and White

What is your most trying moment?

Iryn: When I lost my grandpa and my brother in August

Where do you call home?

Iryn: France and Uganda

What is your best moment in your career?

Iryn:  When I signed with a record lable in France

What is your worst moment in your career?

Iryn:  When I hired someone to organise for me concerts in Mityana and the robbed the money. People wanted to beat me up

What are your plans this year?

Iryn:  Iryn from Uganda with 3 kids
