Meet Jackson
Jackson
a.k.a Jackson Luyombya the new upcoming “hip hoper” (Lyrical G
here is a run for your award jox).He sound more like Nas.
Jackson went through education like any other kid on the block.
He went to Buganda Road Primary School , St Henry's College
Kitovu and Light College Katikamu.
He began singing in 1998 back in school doing basically karaoke
and miming songs of artists like Nas who happens to be his
favorite international musician and P.Diddy and sometimes his
own songs. (Wow he had his own songs what happened let's see).
He would us the beats of these other musicians and fit in his
own words. After school, he gave up singing for sometime and
ventured into the computer business. He later discovered that
computer was not his thing so he decided to get back into the
music industry
Last year he recorded some songs but never got to release them.
During this time he performed at the famous Tuesday hip hop
night at Sabrina's Pub on Bombo Road . Later in March this year
he recorded
“I want you back”
in which he featured Christine who is currently based in Norway
.
When asked why of all kinds of music Hip hop all he could say is
that it is easier for him to write and communicate in through.
Jackson writes his own music and it is produced by a friend of
his named Peter who owns a home studio called JSon Records and
it is found in Bunga. His lyrics are based on personal or real
life experiences.
The problem he encountered most and I think that is what most
upcoming musicians face is that FM stations don't give him air
play as in they don't play his music. The advice he gives to
upcoming musicians is to believe in themselves. And in the next
four years he sees himself going international.
This song was written by Jackson himself and produced by JSon
Records owned by Peter a friend of his.
It is introduced by a lady called Christine. Many could mistake
her for Evon and could even go further and bet money. But you
know what you will lose and she is that good. Christine is based
in Norway .
Many could mistake it for a gospel song because of the lyrics in
the beginning. It could easily be nominated for a gospel track.
Jackson sounds like Nas when he does his thing. This song is
basically a mixture of r'n'b and hip hop and the two blend
together very well. |
