Jaqee releases 'Headfall'
"For a teaser we have uploaded the beautiful song Headfall, a soul and reggae mix, (Both video and audio) on http://jaqee.com It has also started getting airplay on different Swedish FM & TV channels". Jaqee who is Ugandan has established herself on the contemporary soul scene in Sweden. Further plans are being made to release the album in her home country Uganda, where she feels she will make a difference, especially to the young community. Her official website, www.jaqee.com has just been updated and now features video, audio, wallpaper and a lot more. Jaqee is finally releasing a single from her long-awaited upcoming debut album. The single was recorded in Sweden’s second largest city, Gothenburg, a city that she knows well and has been living at for 14 yrs. There, she became friends with the guys that have been part of her past 5 yrs in music, BLaO. Jaqee was originally featured on both of the compilations that BLaO released in the years 2000 and 2002. For the past 1-˝ years, Jaqee has spent time putting together songs for her Album ‘Blaqalixious’ (name at work). It is an album that will take the listener through an interesting journey lyrically, vocally and emotionally. The artist tells about how she had to search really deep down for the strength to be honest with self, while penning the various songs on the album.
“It took me a while, but I am satisfied with the achievement. I
am blessed to be able to do this” she says Also backing it up is the very simple but beautiful Headfall video. The video was shot on the west coast of Sweden. Approximately 1hrs drive from Gothenburg city. Though it looks bright and shinny, the actual situation was pretty cold. The crew, which was all female, consists of directors from stitch productions and Jaqee’s favorite photographer, Sarah Cooper. Sarah has worked with Jaqee for a couple of years and the two get along well. The track will be available for down load FOR FREE, while the video will be up only for view. There are two versions to the track. The first a remake by BlaO (JAZZY SOUL), then the second, a brilliant reggae remix.
