Juju basks with Sukuma.
Meeting Juju for the first time you can’t help but notice that he’s visibly a low tone kind of fellow. However engaging him in a conversation you realize sooner that later that he’s got insight into a lot of issues especially musically. The neatly dreadlocked recording artists is currently basking in the Glory of a hit song Sukuma that he recently recorded with his sister the award winning Grace Nakimera (recently won the ward for best video of the year at the recently concluded 2008 Pam awards). Sukuma is already doing rotation in different nightclubs and radio stations. Thanks to its appealing hook from the easily recognizable friendly vocals of Grace Nakimera.

It’s a fact that Grace Nakimera won the award for the best video category and indeed many accepted that it was a well deserved award thanks to its wild imaginative nature. However directing this movie was also an inspiration from big brother Juju who claims in music experimenting with art is as important as anything else.
Juju is no stranger to Uganda’s music industry. Being one of the people who did it starting out as a disc Jockey at the club pulsations, he together with other friends started up a group the Raga Boys back then however the industry wasn’t thriving as today so he gave it all up and relocated to Kigali Rwanda where he continued djing as well as searching for opportunities to link up with reputable producers. Its while here that the first Government elections came round. Juju took this chance to make his mark by recording a cheer song for the presidential candidate Paul Kagame. It was recorded at a time when the Rwandan industry was still virgin so the song was welcomed with pomp and made Juju an instant personality in Rwanda and also making him meet the presidential candidate (Kagame) for the song. After his stint in Rwanda he returned to Uganda where he’s been doing musical projects with his sister Grace Nakimera. When it comes to the industry’s pomp today, Juju is taking it easy for now concentrating on creating is brand and mark through his creative nature. He promises to push out more songs in the future but as for now you can enjoy Sukuma which is on the market.
