Meet Kid Fox

Kiggundu Steven a.k.a Kid Fox. Many people have associated Kid Fox to doing dancehall gospel music but actually Kid insists that his music is not gospel it is just positive music inotherwards music that is meant to inspire us and builds our souls

Kid Fox had his education in Nakasero Primary School , Wairaka College and Progressive Secondary School and finally proceeded to Makerere University .

He started singing when he was in 1991 while in Senior One while in Wairaka College in the Drama Club. He used to do rap miming doing songs of guys like Vanilla Ice, MC Turbo B and many more. (Kid Fox started with Hip Hop lets see what happened between that time and now). In 1994, Kid Fox switched to dancehall because dancehall was picking at a faster rate and he was inspired by international artists like Buju Bunton, Red Fox, Mad Cobra and Chaka Demus and Pliers.

In 1995, Kid Fox started performing at shows of Da Hommies with Shanks Vividee, Perfect Generations. These shows took place in places like Fairway Hotel, Lugogo Indoor Stadium, Sheraton Ball Room, Hotel International in Muyenga and many more. In 1999, Karoakes sprang up in Kampala and the first was at Bingo Cinema , Texas Pub (Park View). He then graduated to Sabrina's pub on Bombo Rd and DV8 and many more around town.

In 2000, Kid Fox did his debut album “Watoto” but did not get to promote it so it was not a hit. After the release of this album, Kid Fox switched from singing and become a DJ after some time he left the entertainment scene and the music industry and resumed with education.

In early 2005 after completing the education gig, he bounced with another album that consists of four songs. These include; Brothers and Sisters, Love is a good feeling (These two have a reggae touch added to them), Fed up which is Lovers Rock and lastly Uganda which is pure dancehall and many more songs that are down the drain.

Lets talk about Brothers and Sisters. As the title goes this is a song that communicates or tells us about Unity. Kid Fox wrote the words himself and Steve Jean produced the song. He was inspired by life's experiences and basically everyday stuff. Blessed Crew, ZTX Foundation and lastly Ras Khan/VGA Solutions did the video

The song tells us basically to trust in God and God never fails everything will fail but that will never fail. In the video it is brought out much clearer. It shows us a guy who was used to living a life depending on trust in money and friends and he was frustrated. During his downfall money and friends were nowhere to be seen so basically this shows that we should trust in the Lord.

The best advice Kid Fox can give to anyone musicians, “Life is not easy, but trust in the Lord, work hard and have devotion.”

Kid Fox set for bigger things

The phenomenal Kid Fox launch.

Glitzy is the one word to summarize the type of performance recording artist Kid fox put up at the Kyadondo rugby grounds on Saturday (12th December). The speculation around town the whole day before the show had been whether crowds would turn up for the concert because it had rained cats and Ddgs in the afternoon and therefore many thought the feeling of a wet venue would perhaps affect the attendance. However, as you would later expect it did shine and before you knew it the show ground was all ready for one of the most anticipated launches of the year.

Kid Fox Unplugged

The Unplugged sessions are meant to showcase the musical talent in an artist; this time round we had Kid Fox. In my own view these sessions make you (an artist), help you gain courage and you are also supposed to prove yourself as a musician.
