Lil' Faisal to launch 'Nindilidenyo' album

Lil' Faisal has finally come through with a seven-track album titled 'Nindiridenyo', named after his maiden studio recording of the same name. He worked with Ayuba, a close friend of his to do the backup vocals of his maiden track and seems like the sentiments still run strong. All were amazed when MMc, a hardcore Hip-hop producer came through with the 'Nindiridenyo' instrumental, which is in a popular laid back kiganda style. Other tracks on the album were produced by Aydee at Godenuff studios and other recording houses. We'll give you launch and distribution details soon as we get them

Faisal is now also working hand hin hand with Kato Lubwama and his Power Music House who are going to help him launch the album. Together with godfathers at Steak Out and Littlered studios, Lil' Faisal is destined to become 'big time'.

Lil Faisal is the latest addition to Uganda's list of contemporary Ugandan artists. The latest addition to his repertoire is 'Tukyakale' which was produced and mastered by Aydee of Goodenuff Productions/Ngoni, the group that gave you the tracks 'Banacity' and 'Angenoir'

The Goodenuff productions studio situated in Makindye is one of the newest in Kampala and Aydee, the skipper of the production team recently returned from the UK where he was studying studio production to set it up.

Faisal was initially doing a more traditional kind of style, something similar to Kadongo Kamu but has now taken on contemporary Ugandan music with a dancehall beat. He features Rudeboy Devoe in his brand new release who adds roughcast to the sound waves for diversity.

Faisal is a member of staff at Steak Out, which is now Kampala's leading nightspot, steak house and hangout. The management of Steak Out has helped him tremendously in recording and promoting his music. Once in a while when there are performances at Steak Out, Faisal gets onto the stage and sings. Many of the patrons have now come to know that he is a performing artist and they cheer him on every time he gets onto the stage. He is very grateful to the management for the assistance rendered to him.

He is currently in the labs with MMc, Uganda's acclaimed underground Hip-hop producer.. I'd watch this space if I were you.

Being born an artist, I took music to be my first priority. I chose it over every thing else. I was born on June 6th 1983. My family was very poor that I suffered many diseases like kwashiorkor, one day I got burnt by milk and bear a scar on my left thigh and stomach.

Today as I prepare this album with my comrade Ayuba, my dream or my vision is being a Superstar, a world musician.

We are going to release it as under the "LONDON AMATEURS" the name, which I formed on the 24th May 2002 to run the management of the Albums we'll be releasing.

We are still programming the music and we are requesting for assistance from all well-wishers.

We also wish to record our music but money is our problem. My Nile Cash Account 0070000022194 bears only $20. It is unbelievable! My comrade and I are ready to overcome any difficulty; we alert you! await our "hot cake" songs

I can only say "music is a dirty industry for King Faisal, in the Third World"

He started his career at a tender age of seven. He joined a Cultural Drama Group called the Lubowa Zone Women Cultural Group found in Kibuli where he was a traditional dancer. He also did some drama performances in plays acted by the same Drama Group. The plays in which he featured include Kibijjidde and Bukedde. He was with this group for 3 years.

King Faisal attended Kibuli Police Students' School near Nsambya barracks and was in the school choir from P3 to P5. He had to leave the choir to concentrate on his academics

He later joined Mbarara St Gonzanga Secondary School where he could no longer resist the temptation to be in the choir. He however did some sports and liked playing soccer. When he finished O' levels, he went for a Cultural music course conducted by non other than Lord Fred Sebatta himself (he has learnt from the best!). Sebatta's school is called Demonstration School of Music. After the completion of his one-year course he earned a certificate in Music and Drama Composition. He plays the keyboard, guitar, and the tambourine

His good performance at the Cultural Music School earned him a slot in Sebatta's demonstration group, which he stayed with for 6 months. He had many problems; mostly financial hence, he needed to find some alternative work. He was off stage for four months and later landed himself a contract with The BKG49 Band. The band is based in Ntinda. He performs with the band every weekend at happy land bar. They perform at Bukenya's hall Ntinda on Saturday and at different venues on Sundays.

King Faisal feels that the main problems facing Uganda's Music industry are lack of sponsorship, shortage of good producers and under equipped studios to mention but a few.
