Meet Lillian Mbabazi
Lillian describes herself as an outgoing, open, free spirit and loves having fun kind of person. Introduced to the Uganda and the rest of world in 2004 through the Coca Cola Pop Stars competitions where she emerged as one of the winners, Lillian Mbabazi the lead singer of Blu 3, a Rwandese by nationality and Ugandan by birth talks about her life in Blu 3, her solo project and a single mother.
In 2010, Blu 3 as a group went on leave and the group members embarked on a Solo project, Lillian gave birth to a lovely baby boy and also released her first single “Vitamin” where she featured Weasle. Now juggling both motherhood and a musician, after her break, Lillian is trying get back to on track with here music career.
Before Blu 3
She used to sing in Rwanda during her Senior 6 Vacation. She performed with a band that used to play at the Hotel MilleColline and a place called Mango. She then came back to Uganda to sturdy her degree at Makerere University.
Flying solo
It has its challenges. One she was not used to it. Having to stand on stage alone even before Blu 3, I sang with a band. It’s really difficult for her and she is trying to adjust but its an interesting ride.
Life as a Mother and a Musician
Lillian says “It different and difficult too”. She has to leave her baby behind which is very hard. But at the end of the day everything she does is for him.
About the Music.
Lillian has currently released 3 songs and she tells us more about them.
Vitamin
It was her first single and released it in 2010. The song was written by Moses Radio and was produced by Washington, It’s a love song about a woman praising her man and telling her about the things that she would do for her.
Kankutwale
This is a redo originally done by Benon and Weasle. The song was written by Benon. It is about a woman who appreciates her man and wants to live with her, create a family and have children.
Kawa.
This is her latest single. Written by Lillian and Ono and produced by the Market Makers. Like the fun loving person she is, Kawa is a feel good happy fun party song.

Lilian releases Kawa rmx
Lilian, member of Blu 3 is basically the best vocalist that we have in Uganda today. She has released the the remix for Kawa. The song features some of the best artists in the region; PUNIT from Kenya, AY from Tanzania and Navio from Uganda. The remix was produced by Market Makers. This is one song that will definetly get you on your feet and start dancing. Hope you enjoy

One of Uganda’s best vocalists and former Blu 3 lead singer Lillian Mbabazi is pregnant again, a reliable source confirmed to us.
Lillian, who is believed to be two months pregnant, already has an 8 months baby with Goodlyf’s Moze Radio.
It’s said Lillian and Radio fell in love during the recording of their top of the charts track “Where you are”, a collaboration between Blu 3 and Goodlyf back then in 2009.
As a solo artist, Lillian has so far released more than three songs including “Kawa”, “Danger” and “Kankutwale” among others after she broke away from Blu 3 in 2010.
