Meet Little Tammy

Truthfully speaking the first time I heard about the name Little Tammy was when I bumped into a poster pasted around town advertising her album launch mid last year. Her album was consciously titled Aids is Erosion. For a child her  age coming out boldly to enlighten many about a disaster that’s wiped out millions in Africa for the past two decades to me came through as a remarkable effort especially at a time when many a recording artists usually go for the groovy happy go lucky songs with their sole mission being making them hits in discothèques, radio and TV stations then follows the fames and the rest.

Trying to meet Tammy was a task as I didn’t have a clue on her whereabouts but I happened to get her mother’s contacts through a friend the recording artist Tevin (of the banakampala Badigida fame).Little Tammy is indeed Little considering the fast that she’s only seven. She goes to King’s school in Seguku and has been writing her own music for the past three years and has gone ahead to record eight   tracks namely; Aids is erosion recorded at Fishnext productions, Anthem for the Homeless produced by Allan at D records, Omuto omulungi recorded at Job records, African child recorded at Fishnext records, Muziki recorded at Job records, Omwagalwa recorded at Job records, Azalidwa Kabaka recorded by veteran producer Didi.

She currently has two new records titled Engoma and sweet owakaati recorded by producer David who formerly was at Goodenuff records. She’s also recorded videos for some of her tracks like Anthem produced by DCR productions and omuto omulungi produced by Didi.

Tammy watches lots of movies and writes songs as hobbies and for now she’s doing her music with a long term dream of assisting underprivileged Kids and women. She hopes to become a career recording artist in the future.
