Meet Q.M

Real names are David Busingye. He describes himself as an artist, someone who loves traveling reading books, experiencing different lifestyles because he believes music comes from experiences.

His Musical journey.

Q.M started out doing Afro beat and Hip Hop. He was inspired by hip hop artists allover the world. He started out miming hip hop songs of international artists in school in 1996. Apart from doing music at school, he used to also do drama, performing at concerts organized by the art school.

He later joined up with people from different schools and organized entertainment i.e. discos where they had other people joining them from other schools performing. He later dropped out of school due to financial reasons and stayed with his step mother.  He had some not so good experiences and he decided to look for work. He did jobs like washing cars, house constructions and saloon.  “I basically did anything that could earn me money” says Q.M. While working in the saloon, he used to sleep there and spent most of his nights in the bars. He decide to start composing his music, it consisted of a combination of all his experiences.  His first song was sponsored by his boss and an artist called “Dollar Man” and the song was titled “Shika Moja Moja”.

He left the salon and rented a house. He met a German lady – Yuta Graf to whom he narrated his ordeal, she was also interested in his music and sponsored his next album and released “Mwana Muwala”, a song that talks about the right way to treat a lady – introduction to both families. He also released “Coffin” His latest song “Ninakuamini” means “I believe in you” is dedicated to the German lady who helped him musically and gave him hope. Thanks her for the good spirit that she showed him. Its also about love and being faithful to your  partner.

The song was recorded by Henry Kiwuuwa of No End Studios and the vocal training was done by Denis Rackal who is also a producer at the same studios. “Ninakuamini” is receiving a lot of air-play right now and he is back in studios working on his next single.
