QNT Analysis
Thought
I told you Hip-hop was getting BIGGER!!!
Here is another hip-hop group called QNT Analysis. According to
Nizzy-X, one of the members of the analysis, the name was
derived from their a.k.a's, which are Q-Maz, Nizzy-X and
Tjee-Esco. Don't ask me where the 'Analysis' came from 'coz I
forgot to ask. Just thought about it a sec ago but I will surely
call Nizzy back to the office and ask him all about it.
How did they start? Good question. They were all solo until they
met at a show at Taibah high school. They immediately
acknowledged and admired each other's rhyming skill and before
you knew it, they had become QNT Analysis.
They
really like working with each other and have been at it for four
months to prepare for their recording session next month when
they go to the studio.
DAWU! DAWU! DAWU! Every time you
mention a new Hip-hop group in this town, Dawudi of Bava studios
sort-a has something to do with it! He had a critical look at
the 'Analysis' and said they sounded good. He was however still
busy with other projects and wasn't yet ready to bring out the
best of them. He shall however make music with them in late July
They have also met other producers like Steve Jean and he will
probably produce for them a track or two on their forthcoming
album. They write music in both Swahili and English. Among the
tracks they have written so far are 'Teazy Sheila' and 'Wasikajje
Katika Hip-hop' which they will probably produce with Steve Jean
at the new VR Studios.
The main problem they have faced so far is having access to
funds for recording, making shows and things of the sort. The
market for hop-hop in Uganda is still small compared to other
countries, but y'all know things will get better
You can catch them at Karaokes all over Kampala at pubs like
Cave 2000, DV8. They have also performed at Club Silk 'The Place
To Be'
Check this space again the very next time you are on the World
Wide Web. We'll keep an eye on them on your behalf.
Good luck to the ANALYSIS
Yours Truly,
