Ragga Dee.

Ragga Dee is fond of making hyper dance videos and this has become recognized as his style. These go well with his party music and though he is a little chubby, you cant say he doesn't have the moves. He is arguably one of the most successful Ugandan artists and at this rate may go on to win a lifetime achievement award in the the successive PAM awards, which have been kind to him so far.
This year, he has been nominated in the category of Best Ragga Artist/Group and Best Male Artist of the year. He has a couple of new videos and you'll see them here soon out but for now, we will give you 'Mbawe', which was a real party banger for most of last year

About Ragga Dee

Ragga Dee is known as one of the pioneers of contemporary Ugandan music, which many times relates with the society in Uganda. His work is mainly comical and drives his crowd into uncontrollable laughter. Most of his music is done in Luganda, which is carefully blended with phrases in English in ways that no one thought possible. He started out in the early nineties with a group called "DA HOMIES" which consisted of him and Deejay Messe (of The Viperoom) and Jenkins Mukasa who was with the group briefly. They together made hit tracks like Bamusakata and Mukwano (gyangu eno tulabe). These days, he is famous for songs like 'Mpeta' and 'Nugu' and that is the reason why some radio show hosts refer to him as "The undisputed Mpeta Master"
Musicuganda's Tha'puzzle met Ragga Dee for a One-on-one and these are the results

When the pearl of Africa Music Awards (PAM) happened last October, one particular artist was not surprised at all about winning 2 awards at the ceremony. Ragga Dee carried home awards for best Ragga song and for best Ragga artist. Dee plans to drop another massive 12-track album for his fans worldwide that he has personally described as legendary. As we sat in his new Cross Country Mercedes Benz, he sampled some of the album's tracks for me at quite vigorous volume metres.

On one of the tracks ‘EKYAMA KYANGE’ (my secret), a heavy bass line is guaranteed to wake up a sleepy head. On this, Dee narrates a love story that shall truly get you listening.
‘MUNTU KI’ is blessed with an Afro-Ragga beat and just like the title it explains the dynamics of the human race.

On ‘OKWANJULA’ Ragga D says “Man I have attended a number of introduction ceremonies but I haven’t heard a single song recorded about the topic, so I decided to talk about real issues on this”.
And if this then is correct, there's absolutely no doubt that it shall live on since 'Okwanjula’ is one of those normal marital routines.

'LOVE’ shall then drift you down south with it's distinctive Kwaito sound and gigantic Ragga bass line. It explains the burden of love affairs.
‘MBAWE’ has so far only been sampled in the nightclubs and at a few concerts that Dee has featured at but I swear yes and again I swear in the name of musicuganda.com that this particular joint shall go places. It’s happy-go arrangement shall infiltrate all fun loving individuals. In the club, it's now a favourite and I presume when the album is out, radio programmers shall have to contain the burden of requests for this particular joint.

On ‘BULYOMU NOMUKISA GWE’ Ragga Dee preaches about different opportunities for different persons globally.
“You see, people're equal but some're more equal than others”, he says.
“When one has some money on their bank account, others will get jealous' he adds.
This is a reggae joint boasting of a systematic flow of code g guitar strings. On this he also mentions Ugandan personalities such as; Karim, Riyaz, Mugabe, Wavamuno, Katumwa, Ezra etc. (They need a copy of this lyrical cake)
Ho ho ho! ‘YEGWE’ will definitely get Ragga sensation Elephant man falling onto his knees to request D for this massive Dancehall beat. The bass line’s quite intimidating and shall leave you automatically nodding. He unleashes wacky rhymes like ‘Njakutwala mu Nandos olye Pizza naye kansoke nkufunire Visa’ in his usual comediologic style.
Personally produced at his ‘DEE'S WORLD’ studios, you need to keep your fingers crossed for this one. Meanwhile here's some Ragga Dee for you.

Ragga Dee, Mega Dee battle by 1544c Ssejjombwe. (+256-078-2-233273)

Hardly two months after Grace and the Goodlyf clashed, two artists are yet again involved in the same scenario of having the same date and time for their album launches.  10 metres separating their venues. With 10 metres separating their venues, Ragga Dee who is considered the grand father of music is to tussle it out with the only singing General known as Mega Dee in a battle dubbed “survival for the fittest” come the 16th next month.

“Kaze ke” being his last album approximately two years back, Ragga Dee is slated to hold his “yegwe” album launch at KCC grounds while unfortunate Megga Dee who by the way has never had a successful launch is slated to launch his “Ina de dance” at Kyadondo rugby club. “With over 8000 printed t-shirts bearing the date of my launch, there is no way I postpone my launch because another artist is launching especially when he should just be promoting he’s ina de dance song.” Ragga Dee said.

Mega Dee on the other hand is of a view that other artists just want him out of the music business.“It seems,” Mega Dee said. I’m the most unfortunate artist in Uganda lately going by the way my fellow artists treat me.”“This is not the first time I’m experiencing this fate. But this time round just like other times, I’m not going to be taken for a ride.”“I was the first artist to book for that particular day and one person to bark me up is Mujib Kasule and no one should expect me to give in after spending millions in publicizing my launch.” He added. So the lines have been drawn and it’s entirely left for the music fans to decide who among the Dee the best there is.

The original date of the launches were 3rd, 4th and 5th of December, Bebe Cool later announced his launches for the same date this was partially contributed to the change of launch dates.
