Who are the Kampers then?
AK 47 What brought ‘U’ into live hip-hop business? Well, everything in the business has a “kitchen”, so is it with music. Music makes sense only when it plays LIVE. What’s the way forward for music in Uganda? ‘Ya’ man, that’s a wise one. I think unless we start playing and supporting LIVE music and musicians, there is no way we are going to compete with the rest of the world. I mean lets do music for a mission but not competition. Are you a band? I think we are a band, because we command the back-line (Instrumentalists) and us being on the Front-line that automatically makes us a band. Who are the back liners / Instrumentalists? The Blood brothers band i.e. Data Marshalls (bass), Alex Guma (drums), Niko Mbote (Rhythm guitor), Jude Microsoft (Keyboard), Damulira and Xavier (percussions)

Swamp Kamp get their inspiration from the ordinary day2day
living and lifestyle of the majority in the Ghetto. Growing up
has been rapid, experience has been a great teacher and we have
qualifications they have are from the University of Life. It is
not crucial to highlight the negative but it's rather better to
shine a light on the positivity. Having made appearances at numerous gigs, Swamp Kamp feels they are ready 4 maximum exposure in da music marketplace, but what challenges do they face in this HIP HOP game? ANS: Funding! U know everything is possible, but without GOD and funds, things will always seem like a joke and thats why we`re working tooth & nail 2 lift de standards so that de corporate companies can possibly project their cameras on HIP HOP. QN: Are u guys trying to change the face of HIP HOP and music in Uganda in general? ANS: Naturally, but is that not the same for all upcoming musicians. QN: You guys are the only HIP HOP group that records & performs their music LIVE in Uganda and possibly in East Africa, aren`t u proud of that? ANS: Yeah!!! We feel great but glory be 2 God first, coz without his mighty-guiding hand, we would have possibly been floating in soup. Besides that, there are no shortcuts in this game, though all roads can lead u 2 da mainstream, it doesn`t mean dat da reception will always be warm or the same 4 all. QN: Do you see your brothers in the industry as a threat ANS: Well, not really coz we aint here 4 competition BUT 4 a mission.
