His 2005 extraterrestrial sounding album "Karibu Afande" propelled him to greater heights, winning him much needed credibility and a much more fan base than before. A song off the same album titled "Mwana Muwala" had the force equalling that of Nitroglycerine. Till todate a party without the above would render the DJ weak. The old and the young alike shook to this particular album which in a nutshell bursted many a radio countdown charts. All this would later surprise many and win him a much deserverd eastern artist of the year 2005.

"Blood honestly its true Messach (Semakula) had a fine album last year but I still believe I was one of the top four artists that deserved that artist of the year award last year" Mega says.

To continue from where he stopped Uganda's first singing General has dropped yet another album titled "Nimerudi" ('am back). The seven track album has songs like Nimerudi ,Laura, Komawo, Kankyineku, Doi Doi, Am in Love,Sauti Zetu and Rose(Jangu). On sampling the album at his house I couldn't help but notice the ounce of Zest and Zing lent into this latest effort by the flambouyant artist. The beats are pacy and mostly bent toward an afro- carribean front. The heavy dancehall effect and the sound of the Zither are pronounced on other songs too. on other songs the artist sounds opprobrious to some contemporary issues like and instead urges people to have a fine tine whenever they possibly can.It would therefore be safe to assert that his producer Ziwa Reedeems did a spleding job to this one too.

"The thing with me today is that i have created my own sound and identity and my marketing plans are long term and therefore it would be tough for copycats to bite my style"explains the General.ring...ring.....his cell rings and I have to hold back the questions. A moment later and we're on. "Man I also think the PAM award guys need to create categories like album of the year like the way it is allover the world. Music is strange i don't think we should judge people from singles. Let critics review albums and rate them too. Then we'll see who the Prophet is" .he says. The yet un-recorded Sauti Zetu is to feature Ugandan army General Elly Tumwine who as Dee says has been extremely busy with national duty.

He continues to say the industry needs professional managers , public relations persons and balanced reporting from the media. Speaking of such tendencies, to promote his last album he had to print out about eight thousand posters that he seldom autographs for his supportive fans that have been there with him through thick and thin. In the meantime he says he follows the principle of Discipline and Hard Work something he learnt from the motto of his former school Kiira College Butiki.

Besides owning GL studios, General Dee also co-owns Video plus a video production outfit together with a one Robert. Its the same unit that's been producing all of his videos on television today. Dee whose shoe size is ten seldom arrives an hour before a perfomance and keeps calm all the way untill he jumps on stage. He also usually attends night club sessions just to see the reaction of the audience to his songs. "man I have to follow the game. If my song is played and guys jump off the dance floor I return home frustrated and ask myself the big WHY? He's also optimistic that the copyright law shall one day come to the rescue of Ugandan artists who sweat hard for their success. For now he'd like to thank his Guardian Edward Mugabi who's been like a father and mother to him since childhood, Geoffrey Lutaaya and Messach Semakula of the Eagles production, Joseph Mwawala and a BIG UP to all the fans that've showed him love all the way.

If the General is really back as his new album title suggests ,then we only have to wait for the impact it will create to yours and my eardrums.
