Being an artist is one thing and being talented is another. Sera Nampijja is a talented artist signed to Swangz Avenue and the first born of three kids born to Mrs Elizabeth Wolwa in 1991. Doing a blend of dancehall fused with Hip hop and RnB, Sera’s first track was “Delivered” back in 2008 with Kid Fox before she released “ Surrender”, “No more”, “Fire” and “Ntwala” but her breakthrough song was “Sunrise”. Infact it was the same track that attracted Swangz Avenue to sign the multi talented burgeoning star.

Being a Swangz Avenue artist, Sera has received enormous airplay especially with “Contagious”, a song she recorded with little known Jeff Blaise.“Sunrise” was number five on Sanyu Fm’ countdown for five weeks after it’s release and was also among the top ten on Hot 100 while “Contagious” is still enjoying enormous airplay in clubs, pubs, TV and radio. In her final year at Tina international school of beauty pursuing a fashion design course, Sera  says perfect production and world class organization made her sign a contract with the muyenga based studio. ““Swangz is the in-thing these days and looking at the songs they’ve produced gives me total satisfaction that I’m in the right hands.” She said.

Sera passed on.

Another dark cloud covers the Entertainment Industry. Sarah Nampijja commonly known as Sera passed on yesterday on her way back to Kampala from a burial in Masaka. Cause of Death is Ulcers. Sera came to limelight after the release her song “Contagious” featuring Jeff Blaise. There will be a funeral service tomorrow at Christ The King Church at 10:00 AM and she will later be laid to rest at the parents’ home in Nansana. She was under the management onto the Muyenga-based Swangz Avenue production house. She was a Star and will be deeply missed. Our condolences to her family and to Swangz, May God guide them and give them the strength to go through this trying period.

LESS than a month after very promising youthful musician Mr. X passed on, another up-and-coming Ugandan musician has died. And while Mr. X was a gent, this time it is a female singer the grim reaper has snatched, in the form of Sera of the Contagious fame. Sera, whose real names are Sarah Nampijja, and who was in her mid-twenties, is reported to have died from ulcers yesterday evening while returning from a burial in Masaka. According to various musician sources who were part of her close circles, the youthful dancehall singer was returning from the burial of the father of a one Ken, her producer, when she developed stomach complications and died within minutes.

Updated: - The Uganda Music Industry has been hit yet again with another loss of a talented singer commonly known as Sera.  Sarah Nampijja aka Sera was signed to the Muyenga based Swangz Avenue and was known to many through her popular blockbuster hit 'Contagious' that she did with Jeff Blaze(Jeff Mukisa).

Sera had travelled to Masaka for the burial of her Producer's father Ken but while on their way back, she felt a sharp pain in the stomach. They then rushed to the nearest hospital where they got some medication. Its important to note that Sera had not had a meal in a long time and yet she had a history of Ulcers.
